The short answer
Call 07 3524 8064, any hour. You get a starting price and a real ETA on the phone, a licensed technician usually reaches you in 20–30 minutes, and the price is confirmed at the door before anything is touched. A lockout starts from $125 all-in ($45 callout + opening from $80), and it's the same at 2am, on weekends and on public holidays.
If anyone is in danger, a child or vulnerable person is locked inside alone, or something is on that shouldn't be (a stove, a heater, a smell of gas), call Triple Zero (000) first.
Emergencies we handle, day and night
- Locked out of your house or unit. Non-destructive entry first, so the lock still works afterwards. Most standard doors take up to 15 minutes. Our locked out of your house guide covers what to check before you call.
- Locked out of your car. Keys locked in, lost or broken, on the street, in a car park or at home. See our car lockout service.
- Locked out of your shop or office. Shopfront doors, deadlocks and roller door locks.
- A lock that's broken, jammed or won't lock. A door you can't secure at night is an emergency. We repair it or replace the lock on the spot, with a replacement lock from $120.
- After a break-in. Once police have been told, we make the door lock again and give you an itemised invoice for the insurer.
- Keys lost or stolen. We get you in and rekey the lock so the old key stops working, from $15 per cylinder. Read what to do when someone has your keys.

After-hours locksmith cost in Brisbane
Many Brisbane locksmiths add a loading for nights, weekends and public holidays, sometimes 50–100% on top of the daytime price, and it often only appears on the invoice. LockOps doesn't. These starting prices apply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, GST inclusive:
| Emergency | LockOps starting price, any hour |
|---|---|
| Callout | $45 |
| House or unit lockout (callout + door opening) | from $125 |
| Car lockout (callout + car opening) | from $125 |
| Lockout with lost keys (opening + rekey one cylinder) | from $140 |
| Broken or damaged lock replaced (callout + replacement) | from $165 |
High-security, damaged or seized locks can cost more. If the job turns out to be different from what was described on the phone, you hear the new price before any work happens, and if you decide not to go ahead you only pay the $45 callout. Full details are on our price list, and our guide to what a Brisbane locksmith should charge explains what's fair.
How fast we get to you
Our average arrival is 20–30 minutes across Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast. Outer suburbs can take a little longer, and you get a real ETA for your street when you call, not a guess. The technician calls you when they're close, so you can wait somewhere safe and well lit rather than outside the door.
We cover inner Brisbane, the north, south, east and bayside, the western suburbs, Logan and Beenleigh, and the Gold Coast. See the full suburb list on our home page.
What happens when you call
- On the phone: your address, what's happened and what kind of lock it is. You get a starting price and an ETA. Nothing is booked until you say yes.
- At the door: the technician checks the lock and confirms the price before starting.
- The job: non-destructive entry first. Drilling is a last resort and only with your OK.
- Proof it's yours: photo ID with the address, or another document showing the home, business or car is yours.
- Payment: by card once the job is done, never before. Anything we supply and fit carries our 90-day parts and labour warranty.
How to spot a legitimate emergency locksmith
Emergencies are when people get overcharged, because there's no time to compare. Three quick checks:
- A Queensland Security Provider Licence. Ours is 4512789, and you can check it on the Queensland Government register.
- A starting price on the phone, including after hours. Ask: "Is that the same price at this time of night?"
- No cash up front. A $15–$29 callout in a sponsored ad is usually bait, with the real cost added once the lock has been drilled.

Common questions
What is the call-out fee for a locksmith in Brisbane?+
At LockOps the callout is a flat $45, any hour of the day, weekends and public holidays included. The job is priced on top: a house lockout starts from $125 all-in (callout plus a door opening from $80), GST inclusive.
Do you charge more after hours, on weekends or public holidays?+
No. The $45 callout and every starting price is the same at 2am on a Sunday as at 2pm on a Tuesday. There's no after-hours loading.
How fast can an emergency locksmith get to me?+
Our average arrival is 20–30 minutes across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Outer suburbs can take a little longer, and you get a real ETA for your street when you call.
Can you help if I'm locked out of my car?+
Yes. A car lockout starts from $125 all-in, with non-destructive entry so there's no damage to paint or locks. If the keys are lost, we can cut and program a new key at the car.
Someone broke in. Can you make the door secure tonight?+
Yes. Report it to police first (000 if anyone is in danger, Policelink 131 444 otherwise) and take photos for your insurer. We can then repair or replace the damaged lock so the door locks again, and you get an itemised invoice for your insurance claim.
Do I have to prove it's my home or car?+
Yes. Once you're back in, we ask for photo ID with the address, or another document that shows the home or vehicle is yours. A locksmith who doesn't ask would open anyone's door.
